It is our privilege to represent and share with the rest of the
world one of the little-known treasures of Persia. Primarily
found in the region of northeastern Iran these rare Kilims have
been passed down throughout generations all the while preserving
the beauty of their workmanship.
Dating as far back as the early 20th Century what is
most amazing about these pieces is their influence on the
history of flat weaves. Woven in the most remote mountainous
regions of Iran, these Kilims can be seen as the archetype of
sophisticated minimal design. Given their site-specific history
these Kilims have only truly received worldwide exposure in the
last ten years, however, their following is continuously gaining
momentum.
With an aesthetic quality comparable to the best contemporary
art pieces, the importance of these Kilims lies not only in
their design but also in their historical value instilling the
necessity of their preservation for future generations.
